owned.It's FAQ-ish, without the question-asking.

This is where I tell you all the important stuff you need to know about NSFA.  I'll probably turn this into a FAQ when we get popular enough to actually have people asking questions frequently.  For now, I'll just say the important things that you need to know.

1) Copyright information.

The following words/names are copyright Nintendo and are used without permission, for which we hope they will forgive us: Lakitu, Koopa, Goomba.  Parakoopa is not trademarked by them, as the name of the enemy is actually the Paratroopa, but Koopa is, and so we must give them credit.  Lakitu is the cloud guy who throws Spinies down at you, after luring you in with a one-up mushroom (usually).  Koopas of course are the turtle things of classic Mario.  We should all know and love them.  And Goombas are the little crawly dudes that take two jumps to kill and with one just they just kind of walk around flattened out.  It's awesome.  Anyway, Nintendo is where those names come from.  I take absolutely no credit at all for it.

The story as a whole is based in the world of Ragnarok Online, which you can learn about here.  Basic class designs are copyright Lee Myoujin.  However, alterations have been made to costumes for characterization purposes.  IE, Lakitu missing most of the wrappings that assassins usually wear, and Rayu having a coral cloakpin.  Colours, as well, are changed in most cases.  These are merely small alterations, and credit for basic designs goes to Mr. Myoujin.

Music that is linked to (IE, from the characters page as themesongs for the characters) is taken from the kRO BGM file, and thus is all copyrighted to Gravity L.L.C.  City design and world design in general is also copyright Gravity L.L.C.  We have completely changed the story of Ragnarok, but the world it is set in remains mostly the same.

All sprites used, unless otherwise specified, are copyright Gravity L.L.C.  Whether alterations have been made to them or not, the base still came from RO.

Despite all these copyright infringements, the characters themselves are still the intellectual properties of their respective creators.  Gravity, Mr. Myoujin, and Nintendo did not give them their personalities.  We did.  If we took them out of an RO setting, gave them different names, and set them back on their own, the same events would still occur and the characters would still be who they were inside.  And therefore, stealing any one of the characters in this story and using them for your own evil means would be wrong.  (Fanworks are okay though, if you give us credit.  ....Please.)

2) Origins

It all started when Psyko's RO ran out and he decided to set up a private RO server for our gang to screw around on.  Yoiko, Slink, and Guin were all lured to it, in spite of their paid iRO accounts, and quickly grew fond of the little server, where we could summon three-hundred zombies in the middle of Prontera and die of lag for no reason whatsoever.  It wasn't long before Guin and Yoiko, being the avid roleplayers that they were, decided to start roleplaying on this server, where we would be able to have epic adventures with nobody bothering us and calling us "n00bs".  Slink was quickly swayed.

Thus, they created the original trio.  Lakitu (Guin), Marilynn (Slink), and Rayu (Yoiko).  When Psyko would shut the server down for the night, they would go to AIM and RP there instead.  Quickly, the little roleplay grew, and soon Peter and Neil had joined as Jayne and Mitsuo.  Plotlines grew deep, dooms ran rampant, and Guin realized...this would make an awesome comic.

And so, with much fuss and hard work (for the Guins that create them for us....?  About three people will get that mutliated quote) Guin accomplished the unthinkable.  She actually worked on something consistently for longer than a few days.  Thus, NSFA, the comic, and the site to present it, were created.

3) About us

Guinnay!Guin is 18, born on November 25th, 1985, and is a Private in the US Army Reserves, currently awaiting her top secret clearance so she can run around shouting that she has top secret clearance (the fact that it is needed for her job is notwithstanding).  She is also infamous for never finishing projects when she starts them, and wants to be an animator when she grows up.  She can be contacted through her LiveJournal, over AIM (Ja deite sg IRL), or through e-mail (guineverekoopa(at)hotmail(dot)com, maimed to cut down on spam).  She has a thing for the male assassin class.

Teh Yoiko!Yoiko is a college student of the typical slacking breed. She's earning a degree in game design, which doubles as an excuse to play more video games. ("I'm studying.") When not "studying", she wastes spends her time roleplaying, drawing, and sometimes writing. Yoiko likes unicorns, ninja, and cookies.

Slinkoboy is very secretive and doesn't want you to know anything about him, so deal with it.

4) Submission of Fanworks

Fanworks are art or stories drawn or written by people who are not the original creators.  Fanart and Fanfiction are both equally welcome.  Should you choose to do either for NSFA, we request that you e-mail it (as an attached .jpg, .gif, or .png for images or .txt or .doc for stories) to Guin's e-mail address, which can be found in the contact information.  Put "Fanwork" in the subject line so that it isn't ignored.  Also, please give the name that you wish to be credited by should we choose to use your fanworks on the site.

5) General contact information

If you have any questions pertaining to NSFA in general, please send them along to guineverekoopa(at)hotmail(dot)com, and Guin will get back to you on them.  Don't worry about asking stuff that pertains to people that aren't Guin.  She'll go through the proper channels to get your questions answered.
